Jeanelle Alemar-Escabí, CPA, CGMA, JD, LL.M., has been a tax practitioner for more than 22 years. Since 2005, she has assisted 390+ businesses and investors to commence operations in Puerto Rico and/or obtain tax benefits in various industries, including, but not limited to, financial services, manufacturing services and tourism services. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, teaching courses centered on business operations in Puerto Rico, and has been a member of several government-appointed commissions and boards, such as the Judicial Appointments Commission and the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company Board of Directors.
In December of 2020, Ms. Alemar-Escabí was awarded the 2020 International Tax Portfolio Author of the Year award at the 2020 Bloomberg Tax Author Awards Reception.
Ms. Alemar was a limited partner at the tax practice group of the law firm Pietrantoni, Mendez & Alvarez LLC, where she worked from 2005 to 2015. She served as special adviser to the Secretary of the Puerto Rico Treasury from 2001 to 2004. Also, she worked at the expatriate tax division at PriceWaterhouse Coopers during 2001 and was selected to participate in a special project at the financial division.

Jeanelle has a B.S.B.A. (Accounting/Finance) and a J.D., both from the University of Puerto Rico, and an LL.M. (Masters of Law) in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC.
