Jeanelle Alemar-Escabí, CPA, CGMA, JD, LL.M., has been a tax practitioner for the past 23 years. Since 2005, she has assisted 390+ businesses and investors to commence operations in Puerto Rico and/or obtain tax benefits in various industries, including, but not limited to, financial services, manufacturing services and tourism services. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, teaching courses centered on business operations in Puerto Rico, and has been a member of several government-appointed commissions and boards, such as the Judicial Appointments Commission and the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company Board of Directors.

In December of 2020, Ms. Alemar-Escabí was awarded the 2020 International Tax Portfolio Author of the Year award at the 2020 Bloomberg Tax Author Awards Reception.

Ms. Alemar was a limited partner at the tax practice group of the law firm Pietrantoni, Mendez & Alvarez LLC, where she worked from 2005 to 2015. She served as special adviser to the Secretary of the Puerto Rico Treasury from 2001 to 2004. Also, she worked at the expatriate tax division at PriceWaterhouse Coopers during 2001 and was selected to participate in a special project at the financial division.

  • Certified Mediator by the Puerto Rico Supreme Court
  • Notary Public

Jeanelle has a B.S.B.A. (Accounting/Finance) and a J.D., both from the University of Puerto Rico, and an LL.M. (Masters of Law) in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC.

Ana María is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where she served as a law clerk at one of the country’s top law firms, and later participated in the legal aid clinic, focusing on small business advisory. She has been with the firm since 2020 and has assisted in the areas of corporate advisory and structuring, local tax incentives, real-estate acquisitions, non-profits, data privacy protection, governmental affairs and intellectual property.

Additionally, she has worked in the non-profit sector and has prior experience in operations management, communications & media. A Córdova & Fernós recipient scholar, Ana María holds a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law.

Andrea is a graduate of the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law, who commenced her career as a banking consultant, before pivoting her career towards her legal profession. While focusing on pre-law in her undergraduate degree, she brings forth experience in management and financial services.

Since joining the firm, Andrea has focused on administrative and operational support. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, magna cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and a Juris Doctor from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 2020.

Angelica Alvarez Beabraut, Paralegal

First year law student, with interest in Environmental Law, Human Rights,Criminal Law, Racial and Social Justice. Written and verbal communication skills, in both English and Spanish and fluent in Portuguese and French. Ability to conduct legal research and draft legal documents, with academic experience in drafting letters, memoranda, and appellate briefs. Competent use of legal databases such as Westlaw, LexisNexis and Microjuris.Proficient in Microsoft Office suit including Word, Power Point and Excel.
